How to Make a Homemade Burger:
Ingredients:
For the Burger Patties:
-
1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 ratio for juiciness)
-
1 teaspoon salt
-
½ teaspoon black pepper
-
1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
-
1 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
For Assembling:
-
4 burger buns
-
Lettuce leaves
-
Tomato slices
-
Onion slices (optional)
-
Cheese slices (Cheddar, American, or your favorite)
-
Condiments (ketchup, mustard, mayo, etc.)
Instructions:
Prepare the Burger Patties:
-
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined (don't overwork the meat to avoid tough patties).
-
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions. Shape each portion into a patty, making a small indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb (this helps prevent the patties from puffing up during cooking).
-
-
Cook the Burger Patties:
-
Heat a grill pan or regular skillet over medium-high heat. Add a little oil to prevent sticking.
-
Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium doneness, or longer if you prefer your burgers well-done. Add a slice of cheese on top during the last minute of cooking and cover with a lid to melt the cheese.
-
-
Toast the Buns:
-
While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and lightly toast them on the grill or in a toaster.
-
-
Assemble the Burgers:
-
Once the patties are cooked and the buns are toasted, it’s time to assemble your burger. Start with the bottom half of the bun.
-
Place the cooked patty on the bottom bun, followed by your desired toppings: lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, and condiments (ketchup, mustard, mayo).
-
Top with the other half of the bun.
-
-
Serve:
-
Serve your homemade burger with a side of fries, chips, or a salad. Enjoy!
